Wiz Khalifa Taps Curren$y And Snoop Dogg For Spring 2011 Debut Album

Pittsburgh’s own Wiz Khalifa is expecting to release his debut album in spring 2011.

The “Black & Yellow” rapper tells MTV news that he elected crony Curren$y and hip-hop veteran Snoop Dogg to make appearances on the LP he says remains similar to his current material.

“I’ve been working on it every day since I’ve signed with Atlantic,” Wiz said. “The main feel of the album is still homegrown. I’m keeping it organic.” He goes on to explain the personal aspects of the records. “You get to see me and feel me more as a person, but it’s still that same edgy, that same rawness that people dig.”

Fresh off the Internet buzz surrounding his recent arrest, the MC of Kush And Orange Juice fame is still grinding out tracks and generating a nationwide fanbase as he headlines the current Waken Baken Tour.

As his “Black & Yellow” record gets major rotation on radio stations, Wiz guarantees more songs for radio spins. “Every song, they were like, ‘Man, This is going to the radio. You could go to the radio with that,’” Wiz recalled. “So they are good songs, but they are also songs that are going to be accepted widely.” —Niki McGloster
